What is teen modelling?

Firstly, it should be noted that teen models are only those teenagers up to and including 17-years-old. A teenager over the age of 18 will be classed as an adult, while preteens will often be included in the child modelling category.

Much like both child and adult models, teens can be employed across vast ranges of the industry, including but not limited to TV adverts, magazines, billboards, and product catalogues.

Moreover, those modelling within the teen age group may be able to use the experience gained as a stepping stone into the adult modelling world.

What needs to be considered?

As a teenage model, you will be required to have a chaperone at all times during auditions and jobs. In turn, not only is dedication from the model in question an absolute necessity, but also from a legal guardian whose role will be to travel to countless auditions and shoots around the UK and potentially even internationally.

Confidence and resilience are also a must when entering the world of a teen model. It goes without saying that every individual will receive their fair share of setbacks, but thick skin and a sense of self-appreciation will go a long way in ensuring the progress delves much further than the knockbacks.

Finally, as this age mainly encompasses those within education there is an extra node to think about when compared to other sub sectors within the industry. Although education should always be put first, with modelling carried out on a part-time basis, the industry can do wonders in building confidence and some pivotal exposure to the working world.
