Confidence, enthusiasm, and patience. These are the three crucial components looked for in the child modelling industry.
Rules regarding physique and looks for young models do not compare to adult models, with the true emphasis placed on whether a child model will work well within a shoot. Cooperation and being comfortable around adults will often act as a major benefit when aiming to gain a natural looking set of photographs or advertisements for TV.
Moreover, it is extremely important for all involved that the child in question has a genuine interest in becoming a young model. While £60 an hour for babies and toddlers, and £80 an hour for 8-12 year olds in print shoots will certainly act as an extra form of pocket money, if the child is not truly interested this will both show up in the images and the child’s wellbeing.
